- Learning more about technology, or
- Teaching others about technology, or
- Helping out in other, non-technical ways
|
| then Neighbors Empowering Youth needs you! Pick a volunteer position from the list below and find out how to apply today! |
 |
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant: Assist staff in the day-to-day operations of NEY. Field questions on the phone or in person; check in/out people using our public computers; help staff with administrative tasks such as entering data or stuffing envelopes; and be an all-around good-will ambassador for Neighbors Empowering Youth!
Trainer: Design your own course to teach in our Training Center, or select one of our on-going courses to teach. We focus on beginning computer users with a few courses designed for more experienced users. Courses range from how to use a web browser to creating a database in MS Access.
Training Assistant: Help our class instructors teach free computer and Internet classes to the community. During the hands-on lab time, assistants show individual students, as needed, basic computing tasks.
NEYTech: Join this group of "techie consultants" that assists other nonprofits with technical issues. Must be computer literate, or very motivated to learn.
Grant Seekers: Research funders, develop strategies, and write grant proposals for Neighbors Empowering Youth (NEY) ongoing needs and special programs. Members work on the fund raising committee and the group meets once a month to check in and share ideas.
Web Developer/Master: Create and/or maintain NEY web pages on an as-needed basis. Code forms and CGI scripts, design graphics; make text changes/additions as requested, and more.
Writers: Write copy for NEY web site, newsletter, brochures, flyers, etc. on a project-by-project basis.
